make an effort.
Being a wholehearted creative business woman is all about keeping it real. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but chances are that you may have a rough day once in a while. On days when you're discouraged or just not feeling' it, push yourself to
make an effort.
When you'd rather sleep in or watch Netflix, push yourself to do what's next anyway. Maybe your'e in the middle of an art project that isn't going the way you hoped it would and you just want to give up. Or you've made a mistake in your work that sets you back so you're tempted to throw in the towel.
Press on. You can do this! A lot of times it's beginning again that is the hardest. You wake up wondering if any of it matters and don't feel like putting forth the effort... but if you can muster up some perseverance and push through the rough spots in your work, you'll get to the other side and be so glad you persisted.
As I write this, there are wild fires burning in several areas in Northern California. So much destruction and loss has devastated our neighboring communities. We haven't been directly affected, but last week one of them had moved into our county, causing evacuations nearby, and our local schools were closed for a couple of days due to all the smoke in the air. There have been ashes floating through the air and landing on our cars. All I can think when I see them is that these little flecks are all that's left of someone's home and possessions. This week we are back in school, but are observing rainy day schedules until the air quality returns to a healthy level. I feel a bit of guilt returning to normal, knowing that so many can't. These fires have been raging for over a week. They are overwhelming to say the least. The task of putting them out seems impossible, but can you imagine if the firefighters just gave up because they felt they were in over their heads? They can call in relief crews and accept help from other departments so they can take a break, but they can't give up.
Do what you need to on those days you'd rather quit. Take a little break to get some fresh air (and/ or perspective), crank up some motivating music, and fight the fire you're going through. Press on. It will be worth it.
Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God's will. Then you will receive all that He has promised. -Hebrews 10:36, New Living Translation
